OUR STORY

The story of Tolman’s started in 1965 with two Dutch immigrants, Louis and Trina Tolman. In the Netherlands, Louis worked as a butcher. When the Tolman’s came to the United States after World War II, Louis brought that trade with him to West Michigan. Louis and Trina opened a meat processing facility that supplied their two retail locations in Jenison and Borculo, as well as other local butcher shops and grocery stores. Since then to today, Tolman's Meats continues to provide fresh, quality proteins to customers throughout West Michigan. Being a federally-inspected processing facility, we pride ourselves on our long track record of producing safe and high-quality meats, delivered fresh daily and made-to-order, for our customers.

Our company culture is defined through our Mission Statement and Company Core Values, and has helped Tolman’s hire and maintain a loyal and engaged workforce with over one hundred years of combined experience in meat processing. We reward our employees who remain steadfast to our Mission and Values through competitive pay and benefits exceeding the standard in the industry.
